Vermont Legislative Reception February 21, 2008

Cedar Creek Room, Vermont State House

“Partnership is our theme," states Bi-State’s Vermont director of public policy, Hunt Blair. "Bi-State and our members partner with policy makers, state agencies and other stakeholder organizations to achieve health reform implementation: improving health care access, quality, and effectiveness in Vermont.”

That partnership has included work related to goals enacted by the legislature over the past two years.

Bi-State and its partners are actively promoting outreach to uninsured Vermonters for enrollment in the Green Mountain Care programs (Medicaid, VHAP, Dr. Dynasaur, VPharm, and Catamount), implementing Health Information Technology (HIT) and Health Information Exchange (HIE), promoting the expansion of primary care medical homes, promoting community-based care coordination, and testing payment reform pilots to re-align incentives and compensate primary care for wellness, prevention, and chronic disease care management.
