New Hampshire Legislative Breakfast of Champions - February 21, 2008

The 2008 Bi-State and Community Health Center (CHC) Legislative Breakfast of Champions was very successful despite being moved to a snow date. Held at the Concord Holiday Inn on February 20, the event was attended by NH state legislators, representatives of the Congressional delegation, DHHS key staff and members of the CHC Advisory Committee.

This year's Community Health Center Champions emphasized the theme of Building Primary Care Capacity in New Hampshire. Ann Peters, chief executive officer, Lamprey Health Care spoke on NH workforce issues; Rick Silverberg, executive director, Health First Family Care Center on capital funding issues; and Dawn McKinney, assistant director of state affairs, National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) on health care coverage and reimbursement issues.
During the event, tribute was given to Charles MacVeagh, Jr., the first chair and member emeritus of the Advisory Committee on Community Health Centers, by Martin Gross, chair of the committee.
