Paul Spiess reads Governor's Proclamation on NH State House
COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER WEEK
AUGUST 5-11, 2007
WHEREAS, Community health centers are nonprofit, community-based providers of comprehensive primary and preventive health care services, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay; and
WHEREAS, Community health centers expand access to essential health services for the uninsured and other vulnerable and underserved populations; and
WHEREAS, Community health centers contain health care costs through preventive health services and coordinating delivery of the highest quality primary care with aggressive outreach, patient education, and other enabling services; and
WHEREAS, Community health centers have made great strides in the New Hampshire health care system by maintaining high standards of accountability, demonstrating remarkable cost effectiveness, and empowering communities to address unmet health needs; and
WHEREAS, Community health centers promote 100 percent access to medical and dental care to help achieve health care for all people; and
WHEREAS, There is a continuing need to support community health center throughout the communities in New Hampshire;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOHN LYNCH, GOVERNOR of the State of New Hampshire, do hereby proclaim AUGUST 5-11, 2007 as COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER WEEK in New Hampshire and urge all citizens to recognize the important contributions these centers make in improving the quality of life for all people in New Hampshire.
