2009-2010 Leadership Development Initiative-Preparing for Success: Certificate Program & Seminar Series in Community Health Leadership The goal of the Leadership Development Initiative is to conduct a high-claiber program aimed at providing emerging and evolving leaders with the skills, knowledge, confidence and relationships they need to be effective primary care leaders in Vermont and New Hampshire's increasingly complex, competitive and demanding health care environment.

Bureau of Primary Health Care Uniform Data System (UDS) 2009 Training will take place at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science, Quechee, VT, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009. Susan Friederich, a senior manager with JSI, will demonstrate UDS software and cover all aspects of preparing the 2009 UDS Report. Registration deadline is Oct. 23, 2009. Leadership and Financial Management Seminar Series and Certificate Program  Finding and nurturing future leadership talent in health care is a primary concern for most organizations. This seminar series aims to enhance the leadership capacity of community-based nonprofit health organizations serving vulnerable populations. Program focus is on developing critical leadership competencies for early- to mid-career professionals through an innovative leadership development curriculum. Space is limited. Green Mountain Care is a family of low-cost and free health coverage programs offered by the state of Vermont and its partners. It includes the new Catamount Health Plan as well as existing state-sponsored programs such as the Vermont Health Access Plan (VHAP), Dr. Dynasaur and Medicaid. Depending on income, premium assistance is also available through the state to help pay for Catamount Health or employer-sponsored insurance.
